Granddaughter graduates from Oklahoma University

All the Hardy clan in this neck of the woods plus Bob and Sue Clark, other set of grandparents, all drove to Okla City for the graduation of Amber Hardy, and then the packing and moving of her back to Argyle.  Hunter and Liz and Bob and Sue worked like work horses getting it into the rented UHaul and back home for Amber for temp residency until some lucky school gets this young woman on their teaching staff.  She graduated with honors, worked extremely hard, is very organized and disciplined.
As she is a Kappa Kappa Gamma, I was reminded of the commission I did for this organization with a few requirements.  A family lost their father and both daughters when the father was flying his two girls back to the Uni of Arkansas some years ago, and the plane went down.  The owner of a gallery I am in, Southwest Gallery,  asked me to do a commission for him to give to the school in their honor.  This all came flooding back with the graduation this week end.  The painting was done a half dozen years ago.  Kappa Kappa Gamma flower is Iris.  Owl represents wisdom.  Fleur de Li is a symbol of the organization.  Goddess of Love is Athena, and I think their color is blue, if I remember correctly.  Here is an image in process of the painting done many years ago:

Painting Being held for Buyer as Birthday Present for Wife

It is mighty fun to have an email, out of the blue,  that says they saw a painting that they want for their wife's birthday.    And, then to have the man send a down payment to determine the painting is not sold, before he can pick it up, as it in another show.

And, it is exciting to have a 7 ft. x 4 ft. (foot!, not inches) painting out on approval from a marvelous  gallery that represents you.

And, it is exciting to have 6 paintings in pay out.

And, it is very exciting to get to judge a really good show.  It is hung at the beautiful Eiseman Center in Richardson, Texas,  right this moment and I will go tomorrow, May 2, and do the awards judging.  Have already determined the 80 that will be in the show.  And, I get paid for this great fun.

Below is the painting that will be a birthday present.  18 x 24, oil.
